I am proud to a part of local group of businesses and individuals called The Carma Project is here to assist families who need a reliable source of transportation. A way to get to work… to take kids to school… to get by. The Carma Project is here to make a difference.
On a personal note another local charity that I love to support is the Central Okanagan Community Food Bank and in particular their No Hungry Children program. I had a very sobering conversation with Lenetta Thoradson the Executive Director of the COCFB. In our discussion I learned much to my utter shock that babies in my own city were suffering from malnourishment. Having a newborn baby myself this really struck home for me and right then and there I vowed to do whatever I could to help eradicate this from Kelowna families. Cash donations are best when it comes to the buying power that the food bank has with the baby food manufacturers. The food bank has approximately 4-5 times the buying power that an individual walking into a local grocery store does. Will you join me in the fight against child hunger?
